I made this quilt to honor my two great-great-great grandfathers who fought in the Civil War:
Judah Nash (1830 - 1886) Union Ohio volunteer infantry, Co. E 95th Regiment
John Wesley Gibson (1828 - 1905) Union Co. I 1st Arkansas Cavalry, Fayetteville, Arkansas
The blocks came from "The Civil War Diary Quilt" and "The Civil War Loves Letters" by Rosemary Youngs. The setting is original to create space for the quilting.

The four inch blocks were by Betsy Chutchian. The setting is my own, the quilted urn is my design and the quilting motifs came from pictures of quilts from the early to middle 1800s.
